Building knowledge to transform communities

The Missions of Academic constitute an opportunity of comprehensive training within the Doctorate in Education and Social Studies. Through these internships, students participate in academic experiences and research at national and international institutions, to strengthen its powers of investigation and its projection professional.

Ancestral territory Indigenous San Lorenzo, Riosucio, Caldas

The academic mission in the Ancestral Territory Indigenous San Lorenzo (Riosucio, Caldas) from 11 to 13 July 2025 looking for a situated learning with an emphasis in defense of the territory, environmental justice, memory and peace. The community of Embera Chamí, with 14 thousand inhabitants, it retains a spiritual bond and a cultural nature, to resist colonization and the monoculture of coffee. Through ceremonies, rituals and community practices strengthen their identity, ties collective and pedagogy territorial.

The indigenous community of the Receipt of the Evils (Grass) invites the Academic Mission 2024 Doctorate in Education and Social Studies of the University of Antioquia. Highlight the importance of their ancestral knowledge, the respect for Mother Earth, and education as a means to listen, to feel and to live in harmony.

Josefina Valencia Hubach

In honor of the suffragist and colombia's political, advocate of women's rights Josefina Valencia Muñoz of Hubach.
The first minister of Education and Governor of a Department in Colombia. 19 September 1956, it was named by general Gustavo Rojas Pinilla. This was a step relevant to female empowerment, as she was the first woman who held a high post in the colombian Government
